My story since graduation
Met the love of my life in Feb 1964 and married in June privately to get military dependent benefits before we had our church wedding in August. My love finished his 4 years in Air force and I had our first Daughter in June of 1965, Joe went to work for Boeing in late 1965 and I had my second daughter in June 1967 and when she was 6 weeks old we moved to Seattle on TDY from Boeing. WE were there for 2 years and had even built our first new home in Bothell Washington. Joe was working 7 days a week 12 hours a day while I enjoyed living the good life of being a mother. He was wore out and feared layoff so quit his job, sold our house and moved back to his family farm. We had a rough few years and he had to move to Minneapolis to make a living and I started working at local nursing home which I loved. We missed each other and I had had it with farm animals, cold, single parenting and working so left the farm and moved to Mpls Mn and have been here ever since. We love it. I worked at a hospital in MN until I hurt my back and have suffered ever since 1971. I was raised to pay my own way so did whatever I could to survive. I did daycare for 13 children for 12 years and loved every minute of it. We had a couple of rental properties in North Mpls but sold them after we moved to Big Lake, Mn. It takes awhile to build a business like daycare and we had cut our income by 3/4 and raised our house payment three times so went to work in factory. After being laid off after 12 years I had surgery for a hernia and because of infection had a large open wound for 7 months which took three more surgeries and was still left with a much larger hernia for life. Because of this was put on Disability ss which I tried to refuse but they said I had to take it. I recovered to the point that I went back to work as a collection agent because all I had to do was talk and did that pretty good. Worked there in pain constantly for 4 years when I finally retired at 64.
We bought a hud home so our children could move there but found out since they weren't on purchase agreement we would have to move there so sold our house a great profit and moved. When we wanted to retire thought we would sell our house pay off our new mortgage and be debt free but house market crashed so we now rent it out. It has a mortgage so hope it stays rented. We also bought three other houses during the crash and have them rented out debt free.
I have a wonderful life spouse and have made it work through the Grace of God. Through God all things are possible. We have been faithful followers of God and he has blessed us. We love going on mission trips and have been to Venezuela twice, Alaska once and to Indianapolis One Heart Many Hands Three times as well at to Florida once. My husband is very talented mechanically inclined so I keep him around and I hope for many years to come.
I am his helpmate.
